Daily Card: 124% Bankroll and Only Two Positions for August 26
The Bankroll Hit an August High. Today Only 4% Gets Deployed.
Tuesday finished 3-2 across five MLB positions and moved the standardized August bankroll to approximately 124%, its highest point of the month. The overall August record now stands at 47-30. Six days remain before the monthly cycle closes. College football begins entering the research universe tomorrow and the NFL is approaching behind it. More markets are coming. Wednesday's research still produced only two positions.
August 25 Review
Another Winning Night Moves the Bankroll to a New High.
Tuesday Results
Tuesday finished 3-2 across the five published MLB positions.
The result moved the standardized bankroll from approximately 123% to approximately 124%, establishing the highest bankroll point reached during the August operating cycle.
The Opportunity Set Is About to Expand
College football begins its 2026 season on Thursday, August 27. NFL regular season research is already underway behind the scenes.
That means the number of available markets is about to increase materially.
Today's MLB Card
Two Positions. Four Percent Deployed.
Cincinnati Reds at San Francisco Giants
Cincinnati sends Nick Lodolo to the mound against Landen Roupp. The central thesis is another opportunity to oppose the San Francisco environment surrounding Roupp.
The Giants were successful behind Roupp early in the season, but that relationship has deteriorated dramatically since May. That team result pattern is difficult to ignore even while acknowledging that Cincinnati's current hitters have very little demonstrated success against Roupp.
Lodolo provides enough quality on the opposing side to keep this from becoming a blind fade. Cincinnati is also trying to avoid a sweep, while San Francisco enters with one of baseball's weakest overall records. At plus money, the Reds only need to win the game outright.
- Roupp Team Start Fade
- San Francisco Season Weakness
- Nick Lodolo Opposing Starter
- Cincinnati Sweep Avoidance Spot
- Plus Money Price
Minnesota Twins at Athletics
Minnesota reaches the end of a six-game road trip without a day off and enters Wednesday having struggled throughout the trip.
Connor Prielipp starts for Minnesota with a 5.57 season ERA and faces J.T. Ginn, who enters 8-8 with a 3.60 ERA. The Athletics won Tuesday 4-2 to even the series and now have an opportunity to secure consecutive series wins.
The +1.5 structure is the important part of the market. We do not need Oakland to win outright. A one-run Minnesota victory also settles the position successfully.
- Minnesota Road Trip Fatigue
- Prielipp Road Vulnerability
- J.T. Ginn Stability
- Athletics Tuesday Win
- 1.5 Run Protection

Six Days Remain
The current bankroll is approximately 24 percentage points above the August starting baseline.
The objective for the remaining six days is not to protect that number emotionally and it is not to force additional gains before the calendar changes.
It is to keep applying the same permission standard that produced the first twenty-five days.
If tomorrow's college football slate produces evidence, it can earn capital. If it does not, it can earn zero.
The Calendar Is Changing
Baseball Today. College Football Tomorrow. NFL Soon.
More Markets Are Coming
The 2026 college football season begins August 27, adding another active research environment to a portfolio already spanning MLB and the English Premier League.
NFL research continues in parallel as BrownBagBets audits 2025 evidence before regular season participation begins.
The Standard Does Not Expand With the Schedule
A larger sports calendar can create the illusion that more capital should be working.
BrownBagBets treats the opposite as possible. More markets simply create more opportunities to say yes or no.
Today the answer is yes twice.
