BrownBagBets Decision Intelligence

Approved Indicator Library

A governed system for defining which sport-specific inputs may influence a BrownBagBets decision, why they matter, where they apply, and how their influence is controlled.

Operating principle Recognition permits research. It does not automatically create value, confidence, or a wager.
Why the library exists

BrownBagBets does not maintain a loose list of facts that might matter.

It maintains a governed indicator system that determines what may matter, why it may matter, and whether the market has already accounted for it.

Each sport has its own operating conditions, sources of uncertainty, market structures, and recurring decision problems. The Approved Indicator Library gives those inputs a defined place inside the wider BrownBagBets decision system.

An indicator becomes useful only when it is relevant to the selected market, supported by qualified evidence, distinguishable from overlapping signals, and capable of changing the interpretation of value or risk.

Approval states

An indicator’s title and its operational authority are different things.

The library separates recognition from qualification so that familiar language is never mistaken for automatic betting permission.

01 · Recognized

Valid research family

The subject is accepted as a legitimate area of sport-specific analysis, but its use may still require further definition.

02 · Conditional

Permitted with controls

The indicator may influence a decision only when named evidence requirements, market conditions, and limitations are satisfied.

03 · Operational

Fully qualified

The indicator has a defined mechanism, applicability, evidence standard, overlap rule, and review process.

04 · Retired

Preserved, not used

The indicator remains historically documented but no longer carries decision influence as an independent signal.

Sport indicator registers

One governing standard. Seven sport-specific systems.

Every sport register will use the same institutional rules while preserving the distinct indicators, markets, and mechanisms of that sport.

How indicators enter a decision

The register comes before the stack.

BrownBagBets first determines which approved indicators are relevant to the selected sport and market. Only then can qualified evidence be combined.

01 · SELECT

Choose the sport and market

The market determines which registered indicators are potentially relevant.

02 · QUALIFY

Apply Evidence Quality

Each input must be reliable, current, relevant, and properly sourced before it receives influence.

03 · SEPARATE

Test independence

Overlapping facts are grouped by mechanism so repetition is not mistaken for confirmation.

04 · STACK

Build the decision structure

Independent indicators are combined to shape game context, value, confidence, uncertainty, and price tolerance.

The BrownBagBets standard
An approved indicator is a governed question—not a guaranteed answer.

The register authorizes an area of analysis. Evidence determines whether the indicator is present. Independence determines whether it adds new information. Price determines whether the market still offers value. Review determines whether the system should retain, revise, or retire the indicator.
