Corrections & Transparency Policy

Trust improves when the rules for fixing mistakes are visible before mistakes happen.

Our correction standard

If BrownBagBets publishes a factual error, a grading error, or a materially misleading description, we correct it as clearly as possible. We do not quietly fix consequential mistakes without noting that a change was made.

How we handle changes

Minor edits: Typographical fixes or formatting cleanups may be made without a note if the meaning does not change.

Material edits: If odds, stake size, pick direction, timing, or factual context changed in a way that affects interpretation, we add an update note with the date and time.

Result records: Official results are not removed to improve appearance. If a grading error is discovered, the record is corrected and the correction is noted.

What we do not do

• Delete official losing positions to improve the archive
• Rewrite the rationale after the game to make the original decision look stronger
• Hide major updates inside silent edits
