The bankroll is flat. The process isn’t.
100% bankroll. 169 stated settled decisions. More than $28,000 of cumulative allocation.
Monday hurt.
Only Calgary +1.5 survived the five-position card.
And just like that,
the standardized bankroll is back at 100%.
Exactly where October began.
It would be easy to describe that as a month in which nothing happened.
That would be wrong.
BrownBagBets has stated 169 settled October positions
and more than $28,000 of cumulative capital allocation
through the market.
The bankroll came back.
The information stayed.
The principal survived. The operating history compounded.
A bankroll statement measures one thing:
how much standardized capital remains.
It does not capture everything generated while that capital was working.
Each settled wager adds another live observation about thesis, price, allocation and outcome.
The same bankroll has been repeatedly deployed and returned through the decision process.
Despite substantial turnover, the standardized starting bankroll remains intact.
Eligible sportsbook rewards, tier credits or loyalty benefits may accrue from wagering volume depending on each operator's rules.
Sportsbook loyalty points, status credits, boosts or promotional benefits generated
by eligible volume are ancillary economic value.
If more than $28,000 has been wagered while the standardized bankroll remains at 100%,
those rewards were accumulated without a net standardized loss of starting principal.
They should not be called guaranteed profit or literally free money:
capital was at risk to earn them,
and their exact value depends on the sportsbook, program rules and redemption method.
BrownBagBets should track them separately from betting P&L.
Five positions. Five games. Ten percent.
Milwaukee Brewers ML
Milwaukee enters Game 4 one win from a World Series championship.
The Brewers lead 3–0 after winning the first two games by one run and then breaking Game 3 open in a 10–1 rout.
Tampa Bay has now scored only one run over its last 17 innings. Milwaukee's top leverage relievers also received an unexpected night of rest because Game 3 became noncompetitive.
That is the measurable case.
The wager does not require us to quantify whether Tampa Bay feels defeated or whether Milwaukee is having more fun. Psychology can matter, but it is much harder to price than performance.
The contradiction is Tampa Bay starter Griffin Jax. He enters with a 1.88 ERA over his last six outings, while Milwaukee's Game 4 pitching plan remained unsettled during the morning.
Milwaukee lineup form, superior series performance and rested leverage bullpen.
Brewers lead 3–0 and just won Game 3 by nine runs.
Jax enters in strong form while Milwaukee's starter is not yet locked.
Moneyline requires only one more Milwaukee win.
-141 requires a 58.51% true win probability.
3% — largest Tuesday position.
Western Kentucky +2.5
Western Kentucky enters rested and improving.
The Hilltoppers have won three of their last four games, including consecutive conference wins over Missouri State and Sam Houston, and had a bye following the October 14 victory.
They are also undefeated at home.
With two 3–4 teams meeting in Bowling Green, +2.5 creates useful protection in a game the broader market has priced close to even.
The main objection is not the football case. It is the price.
Public +2.5 prices have appeared much closer to -110, meaning -126 pays materially more juice for the same number.
Home field, improved recent form and extended preparation.
WKU has won three of four and two straight conference games.
Both teams are 3–4, and Delaware is capable of winning outright.
+2.5 protects a one- or two-point WKU loss.
-126 is expensive relative to other current +2.5 quotes.

Sam Houston / Missouri State Over 50.5
This is Tuesday's most explicitly model-driven position.
The BrownBagBets/internal simulation assigns the Over a 63.3% probability.
That is meaningfully higher than the approximately 52% break-even requirement at -110.
External markets do not independently confirm a 63.3% probability. Current public Over 50.5 pricing and prediction markets sit much closer to the low-to-mid 50% range.
The football mechanisms still support points: Missouri State has allowed substantial scoring in conference play, while Sam Houston has struggled badly against the run.
The reason allocation remains only 1% is important: the largest apparent edge comes from an internal model rather than multiple independent market signals.
Two defenses with exploitable weaknesses and sufficient offensive opportunity.
BrownBagBets simulation: 63.3% Over probability.
External market probabilities cluster materially below the internal estimate.
Over 50.5 requires 51 combined points.
-110 implies 52.38%, not 53.5%.
1% — smallest position on Tuesday.
Utah Mammoth ML
This is Tuesday's cleanest schedule-spot wager.
Minnesota is completing a five-game road trip that began October 20, with stops in Edmonton, Calgary, Seattle, Vancouver and now Utah.
The Wild also played on consecutive nights in Seattle and Vancouver before getting one day off and traveling into Salt Lake City.
Utah last played October 24, giving the Mammoth two full off days before this matchup.
Utah is 4–1 at home and enters the week with the NHL's best power play at 38.1%.
But Minnesota is not merely a tired road team. The Wild are 8–3–2, lead the Central Division, allow only 2.31 goals per game, and rank among the league leaders in shot suppression.
That makes the wager a real rest-and-home-ice adjustment against a very good opponent, not an automatic schedule fade.
Rest advantage, home ice and Utah's aggressive offensive/special-teams profile.
Minnesota is playing its fifth road game of the trip.
Minnesota owns an elite defensive profile and leads the Central.
Moneyline asks Utah to convert the situational advantage into a win.
-125 requires 55.56%.
2%.
Vegas Golden Knights ML
Vegas returns home after three straight losses: 6–2 to Tampa Bay, 6–2 to St. Louis and 2–1 in overtime at Columbus.
Despite the recent scoring slump, the broader offense remains productive. Vegas has scored 46 goals through its early-season sample, one of the league's stronger totals.
Ottawa's biggest issue is in goal. Linus Ullmark is on injured reserve and expected to miss one to two weeks.
Samuel Ersson has struggled when used, but he is not yet a confirmed Tuesday starter. Ottawa also has Jonas Johansson, who won his Senators debut against the Rangers.
So the thesis should not depend on Vegas attacking Ersson specifically.
It should depend on: Vegas returning home, its larger offensive profile, and Ottawa operating without its No. 1 goaltender.
The main objection is price: -155 requires Vegas to win more than 60% of the time.
Vegas offensive quality at home against Ottawa's downgraded goaltending structure.
Vegas remains one of the league's higher-scoring teams despite three losses.
Ottawa just won 7–4 behind Johansson and remains a dangerous offensive team.
Moneyline avoids requiring Vegas to create multi-goal separation.
-155 requires a 60.78% success rate.
2%.
Ten percent. Five independent events. No need to chase.
Monday's collapse dropped the standardized bankroll from 106% to 100%.
Tuesday responds with 10% allocation.
Not 15%.
Not 20%.
Not an attempt to earn Monday back in one night.
Largest individual position: Milwaukee World Series Game 4 ML.
WKU +2.5 at 2% plus SHSU/Missouri State Over at 1%.
Two separate 2% home moneylines.
Five independent events with no direct same-game correlation.
Tuesday's risk is not correlation. It is juice.
Four of today's five positions carry negative prices of -125 or greater. That means several theses must win at relatively high rates simply to break even.
Required break-even rate at -141.
And the same +2.5 is available elsewhere at cheaper juice.
Situational edge still must overcome a strong Minnesota team.
Highest required win rate on Tuesday's card.
What makes Tuesday wrong?
Tampa's starter stabilizes the game while Milwaukee's uncertain pitching plan becomes the weakness.
Delaware simply proves to be the better team, while the expensive juice magnifies the cost.
The internal 63.3% projection fails to transfer and the public market proves closer to reality.
The Wild suppress Utah's offense enough to neutralize the schedule disadvantage.
Johansson or Ersson performs well enough while Vegas' recent scoring slump continues.
A flat bankroll can still produce a valuable month.
P&L is the scoreboard.
It is not the only asset created by a disciplined decision process.
A month with 169 stated settled positions has generated live information about:
price,
market expression,
allocation,
injuries,
correlation,
closing movement,
sport-specific performance
and thesis transfer.
If the standardized bankroll remains intact while that operating history accumulates,
the system has bought information without permanently consuming the starting capital.
The starting standardized bankroll remains intact.
Each settled position creates another decision record.
Substantial capital throughput without net standardized bankroll loss.
The bankroll can reset to 100%. The operating history does not reset.
How to read October 27.
100%, back at the October starting point after Monday's 1–4 result.
BrownBagBets has stated 169 settled positions. The prior running W/L ledger currently contains a two-decision count discrepancy, so the record total should be reconciled separately rather than silently altered.
More than $28,000 in cumulative October allocation, based on the stated fund figures.
Not literally. Eligible tier credits, loyalty points and promotions are ancillary value generated while capital was at risk. Their exact economic value depends on sportsbook rules and should be tracked separately from wagering P&L.
Five positions across five separate games for 10% total allocation.
Milwaukee leads 3–0, dominated Game 3, has a rested high-leverage bullpen and faces a Tampa offense that has scored only one run over its last 17 innings. The strongest contradiction is Griffin Jax's recent form and Milwaukee's unsettled starting-pitcher plan.
Western Kentucky has won three of four, had additional preparation time and plays at home. The primary negative is that -126 is expensive compared with other available +2.5 prices.
No. It is a BrownBagBets/internal model output. External markets currently price the Over materially closer to the low-to-mid 50% range.
Minnesota is finishing a five-game western road trip while Utah enters rested at home with an elite power play. Minnesota's excellent defensive profile remains the primary contradiction.
Not at publication time. Linus Ullmark is out, but Ottawa has both Ersson and Jonas Johansson available. The Vegas thesis should therefore be based on Ottawa's downgraded goalie structure rather than one confirmed backup.
One hundred percent. Not back at zero.
The bankroll is where it started.
The decision system is not.
169 stated settled wagers.
More than $28,000 of cumulative allocation.
A month of prices, mechanisms, mistakes, wins, losses,
correlations and revisions.
The capital came back.
The information stayed.
