Decision Review
The simple process of recording the indicators, price, allocation, and result behind each BrownBagBets position.
BrownBagBets reviews the decision so the system can learn from more than the final score.
We preserve the reasons behind the position, the price accepted, the percentage allocated, and the result.
BrownBagBets definition: Decision Review is the simple process of recording what supported the wager, how it was priced and sized, and whether it won or lost.
The review is useful because the original decision is preserved clearly.
Why did the position qualify?
Record the approved indicators and the evidence that supported them before the game.
What did we actually play?
Record the exact market, line, and odds rather than the earlier number that may no longer have been available.
How much was exposed?
Record the bankroll percentage and any connected exposure tied to the same game or idea.
Did the wager win or lose?
Record the outcome simply. The result becomes one observation in a much larger decision record.
Track the indicator. Record the result. Repeat.
Record the indicator
Preserve the reasons that supported the position before the event.
Record the result
Add the win or loss to the decision history.
Build the sample
Allow enough decisions to accumulate before drawing conclusions.
Look for repeated performance
See which indicators continue supporting good decisions over time.
Feed the system
Pass the growing record into System Calibration.
One win proves very little. One loss proves very little.
A winning bet is recorded
The win becomes one piece of evidence. It does not automatically prove that every supporting indicator is strong.
A losing bet is recorded
The loss becomes one piece of evidence. It does not automatically prove that the process or indicator is broken.
A win excuses a poor decision
A bad price, weak evidence, or oversized allocation does not become intelligent simply because the wager won.
A loss erases a sound process
A well-qualified position can still lose because sports outcomes remain uncertain.
The review preserves enough information for the system to learn later.
This is a hypothetical teaching example. It is not a current recommendation.
Hypothetical pitcher under 17.5 outs
The goal is not to explain every pitch after the game. The goal is to preserve the original decision accurately.
The review conclusion
The record now exists. No sweeping conclusion is required from one outcome. The indicator history becomes more useful as repeated decisions accumulate.
BrownBagBets records each decision so the system can learn from more than the final score.
Decision Review is intentionally simple. Preserve the indicators, price, allocation, and result. Then allow repeated evidence to do the teaching.
